Flugt - The Barrack
In a real barrack at FLUGT - Refugee Museum of Denmark in Oksbøl, you walk through the rooms where German refugees lived between 1945 and 1949. In every space, someone from the camp tells their story.
Challenge
FLUGT in Oksbøl tells the story of the largest refugee camp in Denmark. For its new exhibition the museum uses an actual barrack, where German refugees lived between 1945 and 1949. Visitors walk through the rooms with bunk beds, the corridor and the washroom, and in every space they hear someone from the camp, in Danish, German or English.
Result
We made the audio experience for Tinker Imagineers, including the stories and films of the exhibition. We cast 21 actors, recorded in Danish, German and English, and built the spatial sound design and music around them. In each space of the barrack, a different voice from the camp speaks to you.
