Natuurgeheimen for Natuurmonumenten
How do you bring a story to life that you can no longer see, because time and nature have grown over it?
In the Midden-Heerenduin dunes near Haarlem there was once an enormous German camp, where soldiers waited during the Second World War for action that never came. At a furious pace around 1,300 bunkers were built: the "back" of the Atlantic Wall, a defence against a possible attack over land. What now feels like silence and space in the dunes was once a strictly organised area, shaped by haste, tension and uncertainty.
It is one of those layers in the landscape that has become invisible. At Big Orange we bring this kind of hidden history back to life; we take you along and let you feel it. We do this for Natuurmonumenten with the podwalk series Natuurgeheimen, which launched last week.
